MAAT Lisbon Museum
Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology on the riverbank.
MAAT Museum
One of the most recent Lisbon museums is the MAAT, Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology.
MAAT's own mission statement is to "promote critical discourse and creative practice with a view to generating new knowledge about the historical present and a responsible commitment to our shared future."

The MAAT complex includes a striking new modern building, gardens, and the building of a former thermoelectric power station — an iconic example of industrial architecture built in 1908.

Until a few years ago, this power station housed the Lisbon Electricity Museum, which now hosts MAAT exhibitions, though the original rooms and machinery have been preserved. You can purchase a ticket to visit one or both buildings together.
They offer family activities and guided tours. Exhibitions are constantly being refreshed, and there are fascinating spaces and interactive experiences for both children and adults.
A worthwhile visit in Lisbon.
