Bike Rides in Cascais
Since July 2009, around 250 bikes have been available in Cascais distributed across different points throughout the city.
The BICAS, as they have been named by the Municipal Council, can be used free of charge at 4 locations: at the Praça de Touros parking area, at the rear of the Museum of the Sea (Museu do Mar), in front of Hotel Baía, and next to Cascais Train Station.
To use these bikes, riders must be over 16 years old and present a national ID card or passport. The bike does not need to be returned to the same point where it was picked up.
From Cascais, there are several routes to explore, one of them particularly special: the cycle path that starts at «Coconuts» and ends at the world-famous Guincho Beach.
The best tip is to arrive early in the morning, and if no bikes are available, wait about 10 minutes. If no new bikes arrive, walk to the next station.
Route to Guincho: 7.5 km.
Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Prices: €2 per hour / €6 per day plus €1 per lock.
